2017 Provincial General Election Expenses

All received and complete election expense reports have been reviewed by Elections Nova Scotia. A summary of election expenses reported must be published within 10 days of receipt. The Election Act states:

229(4) Within ten days after receiving each report of election expenses, the Chief Electoral Officer shall publish a summary of election expenses reported in the prescribed form and in such manner as the Chief Electoral Officer determines, including on the Elections Nova Scotia website.

Political Contributions Candidate Disclosure Statement

All received and complete political contribution disclosure reports will be published here once reviewed by Elections Nova Scotia. Reviewed political contribution disclosure reports will be published within 30 days of receipt; all disclosure reports will be published here before October 28th, 2017. The Election Act states:

Disclosure statement

240(3) The official agent of a candidate shall file in the prescribed form a disclosure statement showing the full name and residential address, other than a post office box unless that is the only address available, of each contributor whose contributions received by that official agent exceed two hundred dollars in total and the amount of the total contributions by that contributor on or before (a) eighty days after the date fixed for return of the writ where an election is held in the electoral district;

Publication of disclosure statements

251(2) On or before one hundred and ten days following the return of a writ of election the Chief Electoral Officer shall publish on the Elections Nova Scotia website the disclosure statements of candidates in a by-election or a general election.
