Elections Nova Scotia Office Closed Due to COVID-19
The present COVID-19 crisis has created a challenge that none of us could imagine just a short time ago. Our immediate priorities are the safety of our staff and supporting our stakeholders as best we can.
Elections Nova Scotia has a responsibility to contribute to slow the transmission of the COVID-19 virus. We have taken action to minimize interpersonal contact and practice effective social distancing. We have encouraged all our staff to work from home. We have made arrangements to conduct as much of our work as possible remotely and to take opportunities to conduct meetings by telephone or by video conference. We remain committed to ensuring your needs are met and we will continue to work with you to accommodate these unique circumstances.
We have closed our offices to the public effective Monday, March 16 until further notice. Our return to normal operations is subject to advice from the health authority. In the meantime, I am checking e-mail and responding to telephone calls through my office and cell phone. In addition, the general public phone numbers are being monitored and calls are being answered and forwarded to the appropriate staff member.
This is a very difficult time for everyone and like you, we must balance the well-being and safety of our staff with the needs of our stakeholders.
