Bring ID When You Vote in the Provincial General Election

Elections Nova Scotia – Voters in Nova Scotia should bring their ID with their name and current address when they vote in the provincial general election. Having ID makes voting fast and easy, but these are not necessary to vote.
Eligible voters in Nova Scotia can register when they go to vote. If they do not have current ID with their correct name or address, they can take an oath to attest to their eligibility.

Elections Nova Scotia – Eligible voters in Nova Scotia who wish to vote remotely can apply for a write-in ballot. A write-in ballot is the remote voting option available to eligible voters in the provincial general election. To vote by write-in ballot, a voter must first apply, then receive, complete, and return their write-in ballot kit. When a voter applies to vote by write-in ballot, that is the form of voting they must use.

Elections Nova Scotia – Community polls open today, Saturday, November 9, 2024, across the province for early voting. Community polls will be open in various electoral districts Mondays to Saturdays, from 9 am – 6 pm for two weeks (until Saturday November 23).During the early voting period, voters can vote anywhere in Nova Scotia, not just in their electoral district.

Election day is Tuesday, November 26, 2024 but voters in Nova Scotia can vote early at any voting location in the province. Eligible voters in Nova Scotia, can also apply to vote remotely or have a write-in ballot team visit them in their home.
