Voting Information for the Provincial General Election

Elections Nova Scotia – A provincial general election is underway to elect the members of the Nova Scotia Legislative Assembly, election day is Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Before election day, voters in Nova Scotia can vote at any early voting location in the Province or apply to vote remotely by write-in-ballot.

Eligible voters in the Provincial general election must be 18 years of age or older on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, a Canadian citizen, and have lived in Nova Scotia since April 27, 2024 (six months before the writs of election were issued).

Eligible voters can be added to the voters list during the provincial general election when they go to vote. Voters in Nova Scotia can also use the ‘Where do I Vote?” tool on the Elections Nova Scotia website (electionsnovascotia.ca) to find a voting location near them.

Early voting in the provincial general election will be done by write-in ballot until the close of candidate nominations on November 6. After the close of nominations, safe secure e-Ballot will be used for early voting in the provincial general election. On election day traditional paper ballots will be used.

On election day, Tuesday, November 26, 2024, voting will be open from 8 am to 8 pm. On election day, voters in Nova Scotia may vote at their assigned voting location or the returning office in their electoral district.
