Candidate Nominations for the Provincial General Election
Media Release: Monday, November 4, 2024
Elections Nova Scotia – The deadline for candidate nominations for the Provincial general election is Wednesday, May 1 at 2 pm.
Before an election is called candidates may register with Elections Nova Scotia so they can begin to incur expenses. Now that the provincial general election is underway, candidates must complete official nomination forms to have their name added to the ballot.
Elections Nova Scotia’s website has a list of candidates currently nominated. That list will continue to be updated as nominations are received.
Early voting before the close of candidate nominations in the provincial general election, will be done using write-in ballots. Early voting after the close of nominations will be done by secure e-Ballot.
Voters in Nova Scotia that have questions about the provincial general election can call 1-800-565-1504.
