Elections Nova Scotia Releases Financial Report on the 41st Provincial General Election

Elections Nova Scotia – Chief Electoral Officer, Dorothy Rice, has released the third and final volume of post-election reporting for the 41st provincial general election held on August 17, 2021.

The Report of the Chief Electoral Officer on the Proceedings of the 41st provincial general election held August 17, 2021, is presented in three volumes. Volume I, Statement of Votes & Statistics was released in January 2022. Volume II, Report on the Conduct of the Election and Recommendations for Legislative Change was released in May 2022.

Today, Ms. Rice published Volume III, Financial Information and Statistics, in accordance with Section 163 of the Elections Act. The Volume III report provides information related to candidate, registered party, and third-party expenses during the election. Elections Nova Scotia’s administrative costs for delivering the election are also detailed. Comparative statistics to previous provincial general elections are provided where appropriate. In addition, this report contains two further recommendations for legislative change.
