Elections Nova Scotia – Today, Monday, August 16th (Day 1 of the election calendar) was the last opportunity for early voting at returning offices and by write-in ballot application. Advance polls and Community polls closed Saturday, August 14 (day 3 of the election calendar).
The stats below are the final stats for early voting in the 41st provincial general election.
These early voting stats are for the 55 electoral districts recommended by the Electoral Boundaries Commission in 2019 and in effect for the 41st provincial general election.
Also provided is a comparison of these stats with the early voting stats from the 2017 provincial general election. Please note the results for the 2017 provincial general election reflect the 51 electoral districts as defined in 2012. A transposition of votes report illustrating how the votes from the 2017 provincial general election fit with the new 2019 electoral boundaries is available on the Elections Nova Scotia website.
Final Early Voting Statistics as of 6 pm Monday, August 16, 2021 (Day 1 of the election calendar)
During early voting, Elections Nova Scotia processed 10,093 applications for write-in ballot for the 41st provincial general election.
During early voting in the 2017 provincial general election, 4,133 votes were cast by write-in ballot.
During early voting, 116,858 votes were cast at the returning office continuous polls in the 55 electoral districts for the 41st provincial general election.
During early voting in the 2017 provincial general election, 82,397 votes were cast at the returning office continuous polls.
During early voting, 24,326 votes were cast at community polls across the province.
During early voting in the 2017, 1,678 votes were cast at community polls.
During early voting, 25,516 votes were cast at advance polls across the province.
During early voting in the 2017 provincial general election, 30,415 votes were cast at advance polls.
During early voting in the 41st provincial general election, a total of 176,793 early votes were cast before election day (please note: this is total includes the number of write-in ballot applications process, plus early votes cast at the returning office continuous polls, community polls, and advance polls before election day).
During early voting in the 2017 provincial general election, a total of 118,623 early votes were cast before election day.
