Vote Safely – What to Bring When You Vote

Media Release: Thursday, August 5, 2021

Elections Nova Scotia – COVID precautions are in place at all returning offices and voting locations to ensure voter safety.

When voting in-person, voters are asked to wear a mask, sanitize their hands, maintain physical distance and bring their own pen.

The pen is for any paperwork a voter may need to complete to register or update their information. Voters will be given an individual pencil to mark their ballot.

Voters can also bring their VIC and ID but these are not necessary. Eligible voters can register when they vote and take an oath to attest to their eligibility if they do not have current ID.

Elections Nova Scotia is a non-partisan and independent agency responsible for conducting provincial elections. For more information, please visit electionsnovascotia.ca, call 1-800-565-1504, and follow us on Facebook and Twitter @electionsns.
