By-election Nominations Closed

Elections Nova Scotia – Nominations closed at 2pm today, February 19, 2020, for the current by-elections in the electoral districts of Cape Breton Centre and Truro-Bible Hill-Millbrook-Salmon River. The following candidates are nominated in each district:
Cape Breton Centre
Kendra Coombes, Nova Scotia New Democratic Party
Adrianna MacKinnon, Green Party of Nova Scotia
Louie Piovesan, Progressive Conservative Association of Nova Scotia
David Wilton, Nova Scotia Liberal Party
Truro-Bible Hill-Millbrook-Salmon River
Ivan Drouin, Green Party of Nova Scotia
Allan Kennedy, Nova Scotia Liberal Party
Kathleen Kevany, Nova Scotia New Democratic Party
David Ritcey, Progressive Conservative Association of Nova Scotia
Matthew Rushton, Atlantica Party Association of Nova Scotia
Prior to election day, Tuesday, March 10, 2020, eligible voters can vote at the returning office in either electoral district or any community poll location. On election day, voters must vote at their assigned voting location or the returning office in their electoral district.
The returning offices are open 9 am – 6 pm Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays. On Thursday, March 5 and Friday, March 6, the returning offices will have extended hours until 8 pm. On Election day, March 10, the returning offices will be open for voting from 8 am to 8 pm.

Community polls will be held Wednesday, March 4, from 9 am – 6 pm and Thursday, March 5, from 9 am – 8 pm at the following locations:
- Dalhousie University Faculty of Agriculture, Athletic Centre, Upper Level Main Lobby, 20 Cumming Dr, Bible Hill
- NSCC Truro Campus, 2nd Floor Lobby, 36 Arthur St, Truro
All registered eligible voters will receive a personal Voter Information Card (VIC) in the mail outlining the different options to cast their vote. Eligible voters can be added to the voters list during the by-elections when they vote.
To be eligible to vote in these by-elections, you must be 18 years of age or older on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, a Canadian citizen, have lived in Nova Scotia since August 6, 2019, and reside in one of the electoral districts of Cape Breton Centre or Truro-Bible Hill-Millbrook-Salmon River.
