(Halifax, NS) – The second volume of the Chief Electoral Officer’s report on the October, 2013 provincial general election was tabled with the Speaker in the House of Assembly today.
Chief Electoral Officer Enters into Compliance Agreement with Voter Who Photographed and Tweeted Ballot
On January 21, 2014, and pursuant to section 294 of the Act, the Chief Electoral Officer entered into a compliance agreement with Tony Tracy of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
On October 5, 2013, Mr. Tracy posted on social media including Twitter, a photograph of his ballot which he acknowledged was taken at the poll and that it indicated how he had voted. Mr. Tracy is aware that as a result of his actions, he has breached provisions of the Elections Act.
