Vote early, Vote anywhere!
Early voting before election day is fast and easy. You can cast your ballot before election day at any voting location in the province. Vote whenever and wherever it is convenient for you Monday – Saturday from 9 am – 6 pm.

e-Ballot
The new e-Ballot system will be used for early voting after the close of candidate nominations. If you cast your ballot early you will use a secure tablet to select the candidate of your choice. Once your vote is cast, the e-Ballot system produces a paper voting receipt to place in the ballot box.

Remote Voting
Write-in ballot is the remote voting option in Nova Scotia. You can apply to vote by write-in ballot. A family member or friend can assist you to apply for a write-in ballot and return your completed vote. You can also have a write-in ballot team visit you at home. It is important to understand the process and deadlines to vote by write-in ballot.

Election Day Voting
On election day, you must vote at your assigned voting location or the returning office in your electoral district. You can find your election day voting location using the ‘where do I vote’ tool on Elections Nova Scotia’s website. Election day voting is done using traditional paper ballots.

Bring your ID
It is always good to bring identification with your current name and address when you vote but it is not necessary.
