Candidate Nominations for the Preston By-election

Elections Nova Scotia – The deadlines for candidate nominations for the Preston by-election is Wednesday, July 19 at 2 pm.
Before an election is called candidates can register with Elections Nova Scotia so they can begin to incur expenses. Prior to the by-election call, Elections Nova Scotia listed names of registered candidates on our website.
Now that the Preston by-election is underway, each potential candidate must complete official nomination forms and submit them to the returning officer to have their name added to the ballot.
Elections Nova Scotia’s website has been updated to include a list of candidates currently nominated. That list will continue to be updated as nominations are received.
Early voting before the close of candidate nominations in the Preston by-election, will be done using the write-in ballot format. Early voting after the close of nominations will be done by secure e-balloting.
