COVID Precautions for the 41st Provincial General Election

Media Release: Wednesday, August 11, 2021

Elections Nova Scotia – Elections Nova Scotia is committed to the safe delivery of a safe, fair, and inclusive election. We worked with Public Health to determine the precautions for safe voting during the provincial general election.

COVID-19 protocols are in place for in-person voting at all voting locations. Election workers and voters must wear masks while inside the voting location, and there are tabletop shields between the voter and the election worker. Physical distancing will be enforced, and frequently used surfaces will be disinfected between every voter interaction. Voters are asked to sanitize their hands at entrances and exits and bring their own pen for completing paperwork. Voters will be given a single use pencil to mark their ballot.

Elections Nova Scotia is a non-partisan and independent agency responsible for conducting provincial elections. For more information, please visit electionsnovascotia.ca, or follow us on Facebook and Twitter @electionsns.
