Notice of Compliance Agreement – Jonathan Dean

Notice of Compliance Agreement – Jonathan Dean

July 31, 2018

Chief Electoral Officer Richard Temporale has entered into a Compliance Agreement with Jonathan Dean in connection with two breaches of the Elections Act.

Mr. Dean, of Bedford, Nova Scotia admits he provided a loan to a political party in excess of the $5,000 maximum, and for a term longer than two years, in breach of sections 216(3)(a) and 216(3)(b) respectively. He has agreed to actively pursue remedies for these issues.

“I’ve considered that Mr. Dean has admitted the facts, accepted responsibility for his actions, and is actively pursuing remedies to the breaches,” says CEO Temporale. “And with his commitment to comply by the Act in the future, I believe a Compliance Agreement is the appropriate action.”

This Notice of Compliance Agreement is published in accordance with sections 294 to 299 of the Elections Act. A summary of the Compliance Agreement is available on the Compliance page of the ENS website at: https://electionsnovascotia.ca/content/compliance
