Media Release: Saturday, November 16, 2024

Elections Nova Scotia – Advance polls open for early voting today, Saturday, November 16 and will be available until Saturday, November 23 (closed Sunday, November 17).

Don’t forget, early voting is also available Monday to Saturday at the returning offices and community polls in the 55 electoral districts. Early voting is closed on Sundays).

Voters can easily find an early voting location near them or their election day voting location by calling their returning office, calling the public call centre at 1-800-565-1504, or entering their civic address in the ‘where do I vote’ tool on Elections Nova Scotia’s website (electionsnovascotia.ca).

During the early voting period (until Saturday, November 23), voters can vote anywhere in Nova Scotia, not just in their electoral district.

There will be extended hours until 8 pm on Thursday, November 21 and Friday, November 22 for early voting at all early voting locations.

Voters can still vote early on Monday, November 25, at the returning office in their electoral district.

On election day, Tuesday, November 26, 2024, voters may vote at their assigned voting location or the returning office in their electoral district. Voting will be open from 8 am – 8 pm on election day.

The deadline to apply for an out of district write-in ballot is today, Saturday, November 16 at 6pm.

It is important for voters to understand the deadlines to apply for a write-in ballot and when and how to return their completed write-in ballot kit so it can be counted.

Voters can also ask someone they trust who is at least 18 years old to act as their agent to help them apply for and return their write-in ballot. Voters can call their returning office if they need assistance with the write-in ballot process. Returning Officers can even make arrangements for a write-in ballot team to visit voters at home if necessary.

Voters in Nova Scotia that have questions about the Provincial General Election can call 1-800-565-1504.
