Deadline Tomorrow to Apply On-line to Vote by Mail in the Preston By-election

Elections Nova Scotia – There is one day remaining for voters in Preston to apply on-line to vote by mail using a write-in ballot for the current by-election.

Eligible voters in Preston who wish to vote by mail using a write-in ballot can apply on-line at electionsnovascotia.ca. The on-line application tool will be available until 6 pm tomorrow, Saturday, July 29, 2023.

It is important for voters in Preston who want to vote by mail to understand the deadlines to apply for a write-in ballot and when and how to return their completed write-in ballot kit so it can be counted.

The deadline to apply on-line or by mail for a write-in ballot is Saturday, July 29, 2023.

The deadline to apply for a write-in ballot in person or by agent is 3 pm on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

All write-in ballot kits must be returned before the close of voting on election day to be counted, that is, 8 pm on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. Voters in Preston are asked to please allow adequate time to their write-in ballot can be returned by the deadline.

Voters in Preston who need assistance can ask someone they trust who is at least 18 years old to act as their agent to help them apply for and return their write-in ballot. Voters can also call the Preston returning office at 1-888-503-5835 to arrange for a write-in ballot team to visit them at home.
