Elections Nova Scotia – Election day for the Preston by-election is Tuesday, August 8, 2023. Voters in Preston can vote before election day at either the returning office or community poll.

Early voting is available Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, at the Preston returning office at 293 Main Street. Early voting is also available from Saturday, July 22 to Saturday July 5 at the community poll at 2345 Highway 7, East Preston. There is no voting on Sundays.

This week on Thursday, August 3 and Friday, August 4 there will be extended hours at both early voting locations until 8 pm.

On election day, Tuesday, August 8, 2023, voting will be open from 8 am to 8 pm and voters in Preston may vote at their assigned voting location or the returning office.

Eligible voters in the Preston by-election must be 18 years of age or older on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, a Canadian citizen, reside in the electoral district of Preston, and have lived in Nova Scotia since January 7, 2023 (six months before the writ of election was issued).
