Elections Nova Scotia – Official addition results for the Preston by-election are now on the Elections Nova Scotia website (electionsnovascotia.ca).
Twila Grosse, Progressive Conservative Association of Nova Scotia (PC) has been confirmed as the winner for the Preston by-election
The final vote count for each candidate is as follows:
Anthony Edmonds, Green Party of Nova Scotia (Green Party) - 101
Twila Grosse, Progressive Conservative Association of Nova Scotia (PC) – 1,950
Colter (C.C.) Simmonds, Nova Scotia New Democratic Party (NSNDP) – 1,145
Carlo Simmons, Nova Scotia Liberal Party (NSLP) – 1,021
Bobby Taylor, Nova Scotians United Party (NSU) - 95
A candidate is officially declared elected when the writ of election has been completed and returned by the returning officer to the Chief Electoral Officer per section 159 of the Elections Act.
Poll-by-poll results and further analysis on voter turnout for the Preston by-election will be published in Elections Nova Scotia’s post-election report in the coming months.
The deadline for application to a judge for a recount for the Preston by-election is four days after the official addition, Monday, August 14, 2023.
