Candidate Nominations for the Preston By-election Close Tomorrow

Elections Nova Scotia – Elections Nova Scotia would like to remind voters in Preston that the deadline for candidate nominations for the current by-election is 2 pm tomorrow, Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
The Elections Act requires nominations to close 20 days before election day, which will be Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
Candidate must complete official nomination forms and submit them to the returning officer to have their name added to the ballot.
Early voting in the Preston by-election before the close of candidate nominations is done using the write-in ballot format. Following the close of candidate nominations, early voting for the Preston by-election will be done using Elections Nova Scotia’s new secure e-ballot system. This will be the first time in Canada e-balloting will be used.
Voters in Preston that have questions about the by-election can call the returning office at 1-888-503-5835.
