Why is my vote secret?
Accessible Polling Locations
While we aim to have all voting locations accessible for all eligible electors, this is not always achievable because of the tight timeline we work within and the availability of accessible spaces to rent.
Questions for Elections Nova Scotia?
As an elector, you may have questions during the election period and are unsure as to where to get answers. Some questions, such as where to vote, what ID to bring, or regulations on election advertising signage can be easily found on electionsnovascotia.ca. [6] While others may not be so easily answered, that is why Elections Nova Scotia is open daily and can be reached at 800-565-1504. Hard of hearing? Call TTY 866-774-7074.
What should you bring when you go to vote?
If you are registered on the List of Electors then you should have received a Voter Information Card (VIC) in the mail. This card has all the information you need, such as the address for your polling location. If you are not registered on the List of Electors you can still visit a polling station and be registered on that day and vote.
MEDIA ADVISORY:
Election night results online after polls close
May 26, 2017
Elections Nova Scotia will be providing election results online as polls are reported soon after polls close at 8pm on election day Tuesday May 30th.
The online results on electionsnovascotia.ca will automatically refresh every 20 seconds – no need to manually refresh the page which would only add pressure to the system. Results will be distributed to the online public directly this way.

Travelling this weekend?
If you are travelling this weekend and won’t be home on election day, you can still vote. All early voting locations throughout the province are open on Saturday for you to vote. When you arrive at a poll outside of your home electoral district, the election officer will print a ballot with the names of the candidates in your home electoral district. It’s that easy.
Accessible voting locations
At Elections Nova Scotia, we’re doing our best to make every polling location accessible. Accessible polling stations have level access, and an internal structure or layout that allows persons with disabilities to cast their ballot without barrier or obstruction.
