Elections Nova Scotia – Listed below are the candidate and party spending limits and reimbursements for the two by-elections being held on March 10, 2020, in the electoral districts of Cape Breton Centre and Truro-Bible Hill-Millbrook-Salmon River.

Candidate and Party Spending Limits for the Cape Breton Centre By-election
Amounts in the Elections Act (updated to include CPI adjustments)
Initial Number of Electors: 12,476 (as of February 3, 2020)
Candidate Spending Limit*: $73,410.26
Maximum Candidate Reimbursement: $20,617.87

Candidate and Party Spending Limits for the Truro-Bible Hill-Millbrook-Salmon River By-election
Amounts in the Elections Act (updated to include CPI adjustments):
Initial Number of Electors: 15,925 (as of February 3, 2020)
Candidate Spending Limit*: $90,509.74
Maximum Candidate Reimbursement: $26,317.69

Registered Party Spending Limit : for each district in which a by-election is being held: $6,613.88

Third Party Maximum Spending : in each district in which a by-election is being held: $2,311.33

*Candidate spending limit may be adjusted upwards if there is an increase in number of electors on the Final List of Electors. The final list will be completed after election day.
