Elections Nova Scotia – The deadlines for candidate nominations for the Preston by-election is Wednesday, July 19 at 2 pm.
Before an election is called candidates can register with Elections Nova Scotia so they can begin to incur expenses. Prior to the by-election call, Elections Nova Scotia listed names of registered candidates on our website.

Elections Nova Scotia – Eligible voters in Preston who wish to vote by write-in ballot can apply on-line at electionsnovascotia.ca.
Voters can also ask someone they trust who is at least 18 years old to act as their agent to help them apply for and return their write-in ballot. Voters can call the returning office at 1-888-503-5835 if they need assistance with the write-in ballot process.

Elections Nova Scotia – All eligible voters in Preston who are on the Nova Scotia voters list, will receive a personal Voter Information Card (VIC) by mail. The VIC provides information about where and when to vote.
Eligible voters can be added to the voters list during the by-election when they go to vote. Voters in Preston can also use the ‘Where do I Vote?” tool on the Elections Nova Scotia website (electionsnovascotia.ca) to find a voting location near them.

Elections Nova Scotia – A by-election will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, to elect a member to serve in the House of Assembly for the electoral district of Preston. The following days are pursuant to the Elections Act [7].

Elections Nova Scotia – It takes a lot of people and effort to make a by-election run smoothly. Elections Nova Scotia needs dedicated workers to facilitate voting during the current by-election in the electoral district of Preston.
People 18 years and older who would like to work the Preston by-election are asked to please contact the returning office at 1-888-503-5835. There are also some jobs available for people ages 16 to 18.

The online application for a write-in ballot kit is available on the Elections Nova Scotia website (electionsnovascotia.ca) or voters in Preston can call the returning office at 1-888-503-5835 to have an application sent to them.

Elections Nova Scotia – A by-election is underway in the electoral district of Preston. Election day will be Tuesday, August 8, 2023, but voters can cast their ballot before election day at the returning office, community poll, and remotely by write-in ballot.

The Register is updated regularly and there are several ways to be added to the list. Eligible voters can register any time on-line to ensure they are on the Nova Scotia Registry of Electors.
