Can I Vote if I am Travelling?

If you are travelling outside of Nova Scotia you can easily vote with a write-in ballot. Just remember the write-in ballot process takes time to be sent and received, so allow enough time for mail delivery. Download the write-in ballot application or call us at 1-800-565-1504 to receive one by mail or email. Fax, email or mail the completed application back to us, allowing enough time so we may receive it at least 10 days before elections day (May 20th). Once the application is approved by Elections Nova Scotia, you will be sent a write–in ballot kit to fill out. Remember your completed ballot kit must be received at Elections Nova Scotia by 8pm on election day, May 30th.

If you will only be away on election day, then you can vote at any advance poll open in the province up to the Saturday before election day.
